Today the group set out to brave the waters that the disciples endured on that stormy night on the Sea of Galilee. When fear set in, Jesus calmed the winds and the waters. As He walked towards them on the water, even Peter’s faith was weakened but Jesus pulled him up as they stepped into the boat. When the boat landed, we proceeded to the Mount of Beatitudes where Jesus taught the qualities of the kingdom of God; to help the helpless. We proceeded to Capernaum where Peter lived with his mother-in-law. On this historic site a church was built where we celebrated mass with the anointing of the sick. Our journey continued up to Mount Tabor. It was at this spot where Jesus was first revealed as the Messiah, as a bright light shined down and a voice said “He is my son”. A church was built on this spot which also honours Moses and Elijah.
