Pope Benedict XVI wrote: “On the feast of Corpus Domini, the Church revives the mystery of Holy Thursday at the light of the resurrection. Even Holy Thursday knows its own Eucharistic procession, with which the Church repeats Jesus exodus from the cenacle to the Mount of Olives. On the feast of Corpus Domini, we resume this procession, but in the joy of the Resurrection. Christ is raised and he precedes us. Holy Thursday’s procession is accompanying Jesus in his solitude, towards “The way of the Cross”. The procession of Corpus Domini, instead, answers in a symbolic way to the mandate of the Resurrected: I will precede you in Galilee. Go to the end of the world; bring the Gospel to the world.”
As the parishioners of Immaculate Conception have been seriously take in consideration the words of the Pop, last June 14th we celebrated our seventh procession of the Corpus Domini.
The pictures (by Vito Palmisano) can help to figure out the participation, the preparation and the efforts of many.
